How is Proxmox installed on my server?

Select Proxmox VE as your operating system during the server configuration process. We can install Proxmox VE on the selected bare-metal server before handing it over to you.

Because Proxmox VE is installed directly on the physical server, the installation process uses the selected disks. Any existing data on those disks may be removed during installation, so the required storage should be selected carefully before deployment.

Does Proxmox cost money?

Proxmox VE is open-source software and can be used without a mandatory per-VM software license. Proxmox also offers optional subscription plans that provide access to enterprise repositories and support services.

How many VMs can I run on one server?

There is no fixed VM limit that applies to every dedicated server. The practical number depends on the CPU, RAM, storage, network capacity, and resource requirements of each VM or container.

A lightweight development VM and a memory-intensive database VM can have very different resource requirements, so VM capacity should be calculated from your actual workloads rather than a fixed VM count.

What if I need more resources later?
